We recommend that the table top be installed immediately. • For longer term storage, the board should be stored horizontally at approx. +20°C. Keep away from heat sources, sunlight, and moisture. Remove wrapping just before installation. Remove wrapping just before installation. • Ensure sufficient ventilation when machining the board. • When installing the board, leave room for movement caused e.g. by changes in temperature. - Clearance from walls and other fixed installations must be at least 5mm - Clearance from all corners of the sink must be at least 10mm - Clearance from cookers and electric devices must be at least 20mm - Distance between two sinks must be at least 100mm • Seal the edges of the sink carefully and oil all cut surfaces. Protect edges that are exposed to heat produced by the cooker or oven with self-adhesive steam protection.
If the board has been pre-treated with oil, only final treatment is needed. All edges and corners of an untreated board must be treated with oil before final treatment.
Sand the table top with fine sandpaper (no. 180) in the direction of the grain pattern. • Remove any dust from the surface with a vacuum cleaner. • Spread a thin coat of oil on top of the table top with a cotton cloth. Remove any excess oil after 15 minutes. • Polish the surface with a white nylon scraper in the direction of the grain pattern. • Dry the board with a cloth. When the oil has been completely absorbed the table top can be taken into use after 48 hours. If the board has been pre-treated with oil, the table top can be used 24 hours after the oil has been absorbed.
Regular maintenance ensures that your table top will look beautiful and as good as new at all times. Remember to always follow the instructions provided by care product suppliers. The final treatment can be repeated if dry spots appear on the board surface or it loses its shine.
